While B is living it up in Istanbul, I’m feeling nostalgic for my time in San Francisco.
The Summer of Love? Well, that was aeons ago. 1967, a year with which I have a major affinity – being that it was the year of my birth, although I really don’t imagine my parents being part of the sexual revolution…
Even though it was actually Autumn while I was in SF, I couldn’t go to there without going to Haight-Ashbury, the epicentre of said Summer. It is still a vibrant and eclectic neighbourhood. We ate an excellent vegan soft serve cone – which I think sums it up perfectly. Hippie-dippie!
Some of the ornate and gorgeous architecture San Francisco is famous for, snapped on my walk to Haight-Ashbury.
It seems like I was really into theme dressing on this trip – nautical inspiration for Sausalito and then what looks like a beatnik vibe. Wrong tribe for Haight-Ashbury – although for sure my hair was channeling hippy
